Paul Dworacek "A Life in Art and Dance"
Paul Dworacek, an exceptional artist from Austria, commenced his artistic journey in the late 1980s. Inspired by "Public Enemy" and the film "Style Wars" in 1989, he laid the cornerstone. That year marked the genesis of his fascination with graffiti and breakdancing, swiftly pushing school and work into the background.
Art had a firm grip on him, and he quickly gained recognition in the scene. It was only a matter of time before he also caught the attention in America. In 1996, he traveled to New York, and upon arrival at JFK Airport, he knew: "This is it! This is paradise!" With his crew, the "B-Boy Soul Tribe," he was in a different city every week. The native Viennese evolved from a hobbyist dancer to a professional and shared the stage multiple times with prominent artists, notably at the Apollo Theater in NY. He also enjoyed significant success in Germany. Alongside his "new" crew, "Step to diz," he made a name for himself in Germany, appearing on VIVA, Club Rotation, The Dome, and more.
However, Dworacek wasn't just a dancer; he discovered a passion for painting and established himself with "Custom Painting" made in Austria, gaining recognition for his tailored creations. His bespoke approach found favor with icons like Fatman Scoop, Raekwon, Xzibit, Missy Elliott, and many more who wore Paul's designs.
The Viennese artist is an absolute perfectionist, believing that to garner attention, one must stand out. He undertook a monumental project at the Moxy Hotel at Vienna Airport, covering an area of 900sqm, 200m long, and 5 meters high. For this endeavor, the exceptional artist sometimes worked 17 hours a day in the rain, snow and heat, oftentimes balancing on a 6 meter high scaffold.
Dworacek also designes and meticulously handcraftes furniture, attracting an international clientele. His motto: "an artist’s job is to create his/her own style, even if it’s just a line!“
Paul Dworacek is an exceptional artist, who enriches the world of art and culture with his creativity.
He also presented his work on June 13, 2019 in the exhibition “Living for the Art” at the Hotel “Le Meredien” in Vienna and is planning his next exhibition(s). He is constantly working on new creations and projects. ©norakahn
